Based on forest resource survey and monitoring data from 2008, 2017, and 2024 in the study area, using GIS technology and dynamic models, a dynamic analysis of the forest resources was conducted. The results indicated that the primary land type in the study area was forest land, with the least dynamic changes. Grassland area showed significant changes between 2017 and 2024, with a dynamic rate of 14.76%. Construction land area showed an increasing trend, with dynamic degrees of 24.95% and 12.73% for the two periods, respectively. Water area also increased significantly, with a dynamic degree of 9.81%. The comprehensive land use dynamic degrees for the two monitoring periods were 0.39% and 0.65%, indicating a low annual rate of land use change. From 2008 to 2017, garden land outside protected areas changed more than within, while other types did not differ significantly. Between 2017 and 2024, changes in grassland were greater outside protected areas, while changes in garden land, construction land, water area, and unused land were greater inside protected areas. Among forest land types, wooded land accounted for the largest area in all three survey years, comprising over 77.94% of the total study area and over 90.85% of the total forestry land area, showing an overall increasing trend from 2008 to 2024. Forest coverage increased annually between 2008 and 2017 but slightly decreased between 2017 and 2024, though it remained higher than in 2008. Growing stock was dominated by wooded land and increased annually. Among arbor forests, the area and growing stock were mainly composed of Pinus yunnanensis, Abies, Quercus and Pinus densata. The areas of young and over-mature forests were relatively small, while near-mature and mature forests were relatively balanced, and middle-aged forests were the most abundant. This reflected a vigorous growth stage and abundant reserve resources in the age structure of the study area. The area of ecological public welfare forests increased annually, indicating strengthened ecological protection efforts. Natural forests accounted for over 76% of the total forest area, highlighting the high quality and ecological value of the forests in the region.
